Footprint Atlas Privacy Policy

Footprint Atlas is a personal journey and exploration tracker. This policy explains how the app handles location, exploration, settings, and synchronization data.

Data processed by the app

• Location data, used to record journeys on your map and calculate exploration progress.
• App settings, such as background recording, map display, and filter preferences.
• On-device diagnostic information that helps you understand location recording and filtering behavior.

Storage and synchronization

Your footprint data is stored on your device by default. If you choose to enable iCloud sync, the data is stored in your private iCloud Drive container so it can be synchronized between your own devices. The developer does not operate a server that receives or reads your location history.

Background location

To record complete journeys automatically, the app may access location in the foreground and background after you grant the appropriate permission. You can disable background recording in the app or revoke location permission in iOS Settings at any time.

Sharing and tracking

We do not sell personal data or use location data for advertising or tracking. The app does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Your data remains on your device or in your private iCloud Drive until you delete it. You can clear exploration data in the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can also manage or delete synchronized data through the app’s sync settings and your iCloud Drive.

Your choices

You can disable background recording, revoke location access, turn off iCloud sync, or delete exploration data at any time.
